Lady Gaga has railed at her critics in an online attack ahead of the release of her new single,in
In recent months, Gaga has been criticised for copying Madonna, taking drugs, being fat and failing to reach No 1 with Applause, her last single.
Gaga hit back at the weekend in a series of angry tweets. On her latest single Applause being eclipsed by Katy Perry's Roar, Gaga tweeted: ''APPLAUSE didn't DEBUT AT #1! KATY IS BETTER THAN HER! #UWontUseMyMind I write for the music not the charts."
On the comparisons between her ''Born This Way" look and a 1990s picture of Madonna wearing a high ponytail, Gaga tweeted: "LADY GAGA IS A REDUCTIVE MADONNA COPY! SHE'S OVER NOW! #WriteWhatUWant #SayWhatUWantBoutMe #ImNotSorry." According to NME, Gaga also posted an interview last year in which Madonna described her work as ''reductive".
The singer commented: ''I don't need anybody's permission to be remembered. I will be. Whether they like it or not."
Madonna has previously noted similarities between the Born This Way single and her own 1989 hit Express Yourself.
